The Daily Journal of Commerce is my firefox homepage. It is prohibitively expensive for an actual subscription considering I nearly qualify for public assistance... but the headlines and brief article synopsis are great peaks into what is happening at the forefront of local and international development and business.
All that said, I thought this headline+ from todays www.djc.com to be worth sharing.
Dutch take heat from roads to warm offices
If you've ever blistered your bare feet on a hot road you know that asphalt absorbs the sun's energy. A Dutch company is now siphoning heat from roads and parking lots to heat homes and offices.
This is the same country who have a dance club that generates part of its energy from the dance floor itself (some sort of spring kenetic thing). Three cheers for the tiny country of tall and brilliant people.

Horay for the Dutch! Sounds like they're benefiting from thinking outside the box. :-)
