One of the more interesting books I regularly recall is "How soccer explains the world". This weekend, soccer will change a region of the world as the
Turkish Prime Minister will visit Armenia, unprecedented in the modern history of either nation. The national teams of both nations will play each other in Yerevan in a qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup, the biggest sporting event on the planet. Coupled with news that India and Israel are strengthening trade relations, it seems that no matter how badly we have allowed our country to damaged Iraq or mangled relations with Russia, Iran, etc., the region stretching from the Europe to Asia will be alright.
