Great Depression 2

Recently I have noticed the term "Great Depression 2" being tossed around. There does seem ample evidence for it with an extremely weak dollar, rapidly rising food costs, the greatest income disparity since the first Great Depression, housing foreclosures rising rapidly, low savings rate, weak stock market, further possibility of oil price increase impacting fuel, roads, foods, products (all contain petroleum) and the rapid spike in debt to foreign countries.

These images from the last depression are haunting reminders of just how far a country can fall after coming so far since the Civil War. I hope that we do not again allow the many little things that are wrong with this country to add up and tip the scale of what we are able to do to protect the poor, oppressed and our land upon which we depend so much. It would be a shame to return to the days of McCarthy, internment, starvation and fear because of denial, greed and neglect.

God bless America and protect her from the rich, the powerful and the self-righteous.
