A good conversation, a brilliant meal, a thoughtful sermon, a sad movie and a great date, especially the great date.

I feel like laughing, listening, running, resting... most of all I feel like not being angry. I'm likely to get angry again about hateful political rhetoric, injustice in my family, institutionalized bigotry, public apathy and far more selfish topics. But there are moments when all of that washes away. These are the good days we are living in, not tomorrow or yesterday. These bonus moments are when the beauty all around is clear, exciting and full of promise.

The promise that we all deserve to be happy without hurting someone else to do so. The promise that we are beautiful. The promise that we are wise and that wisdom will grow in depth and impact along with our humility. The promise that we are sexy and our bodies are meant to be lived in, developed and enjoyed. The promise that we are meant to be loved and to love.

The more we look for love and beauty, the more we learn to see it.
