ID Duwamish

I started a website that brings together the projects I've worked on at school relating to brownfield redevelopment in vulnerable communities, specifically focused on how to give the community an equity position to prevent gentrification and foster long term social, environmental and economic value.

The lower Duwamish area in Seattle is historically tribal land, then home to local farming. The river was straightened, the port expanded and heavy toxins released to soil, water and air leaving it one of the most polluted places in WA; and a couple blocks from my home.

I want to see if it can be redeveloped into a secondary education campus anchored project with retail (like a permanent farmers market), eco-office space and energy production facility with community space woven throughout. ID is a company concept to see if non-profits, for-profits and government agencies can be integrated to spread the risk and thereby share equity in the project to create the best (One Planet) restorative building project in the region.
