A little over 4 years ago I was offered a 3 month trip for my birthday that I flatly refused. I had just come out and the trip was to be to a
"conversion therapy" camp to make me straight. I've read that attempts to change homosexuality have included hysterectomy, ovariectomy, clitoridectomy, castration, vasectomy, pudic nerve surgery, lobotomy, hormone treatment,
pharmacologic shock treatment, treatment with sexual stimulants and sexual depressants, aversion therapy, electroshock treatment, etc.
I further hear that electric shock and nausea-inducing drugs are still used. Sounds like a fun vacation right?

This is the subject of the recent movie "
Save Me" about a quite troubled kid and the quite human woman thinking she is helping him. From what I have read, this look at good intentions and raw pain neither makes saints of the oppressed nor demons of the oppressor. I look forward to watching it this fall, let me know if you'd like to join me.

Looks like an interesting film. I'll bet Paul and I would go see it with you.
